Biography

Clap Rules is the new pseudonym of Fabrizio Mammarella, Andrea Gabriele and Max Leggieri: well respected producers-dj-musicians-sound designers making experiments with dance music.

After the debut Ep “Old Sequencer” on the English label Tiny Sticks (record of the year for Disco Delicious and record of the month for Piccadilly), after the “Buio Omega” release out on Dissident Distribution and the disco-not-disco “123″ track on Slow Motion records, Clap Rules are already a landmark over the electronic-dance panorama.

They’ve been picked up to remix some of the greatest artists all over the world: the Los Angeles based artist Michoacan for LCD Soundsystem’s DFA records, New York finest In Flagranti and French superstars like Etienne De Crecy and The Supermen Lovers.

Their first album is coming out before summer on the UK-Disco cult label “Bear Funk”, home of artists like Chicken Lips, Idjut Boys, Lindstrom, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje.

“Golden Hands” is going to be a 10 tracks Lp moving from melodic songs to dance tracks via experimental tunes showing a deep love for vintage equipment and recording techniques mixed up with a fresh modern approach to what they consider dance music with no boundaries.

The live performance is one of the strong points of the band that juggles on stage between drum machines, analog synthesizers, vocoder, bass, guitar and amazing dub-noise effects; they’ve played around Italy and abroad with great critical approvals.
